Student housing

Looking for a room for the school year? A few things that help.

Start early

Rooms near campuses go fast before September and January. Set an email alert for your city on the search page so you hear about new rooms first.

Ask what the rent includes: heat, electricity, internet, laundry. Add them up before you compare two places.

Visit in person, or ask for a live video tour if you are not in the city yet. Never send a deposit for a place you have not seen.

Rental rules are set by each province. Read the lease, ask who else lives there, and keep a copy of everything you sign.
